Ice Cream Social and The Day Eleanor Arrives children's book

7/11/2025

The Day Eleanor Arrives is a historical fiction children's book that tells the story of the beginnings of the City of Dalworthington Gardens through the eyes of a resident owl and fox, who are brought to life in colorful watercolor images.

Mary Webster, the author, and Kristy Jarvis, the illustrator, will be doing a book reading at the DWG Ice Cream Social this Saturday, July 12th. The reading will begin around 7pm. Books will be available for sale for $15 each (tax included). (The social is a come and go event from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at City Hall, featuring homemade ice cream.)

Hannah the wise owl and Sly the red fox tell about the day Eleanor visited the area in North Texas where they lived. Read their story and find out what exciting things happened as a result of Eleanor’s visit.
