Trash & Recycling Pick-Up

It has been brought to the city's attention that some residents are setting their trash and recycling out days before the actual pick-up day. City Code 13.035 states that all containers shall be placed at the prescribed locations no later than 7 a.m. on the day of scheduled collection. In this regard, it shall be unlawful for any customer to place any container of garbage at said location prior to the day of scheduled collection.

Water & Drought

Stage 1 of the drought contingency plan is still in effect. The city adopted the restrictions in June 2013 in compliance with the Tarrant Regional Water District. Residential customers whose addresses end in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will be permitted to only water lawns and landscapes on Thursdays and Sundays. Addresses ending in even numbers (0,2,4,6,8) may only water on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Note: The city will not permit any variance request for installation of new sod while the Stage 1 Drought Contingency is in effect.

Year-Round Water Conservation Program

No watering of lawns or landscapes between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except hand watering and soaker hoses. In accordance with the contract between the City of Ft. Worth and Dalworthington Gardens, the required water conservation mandate was made year round. It is unlawful for any person to irrigate or water, or cause the irrigation or watering of any lawn or landscape between the hours of 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., except for hand watering and soaker hoses, these restrictions will be enforced and fines will be issued to those who choose to violate these restrictions. The conservation program is part of a regional effort to help plan for future water supply needs and meet the requirements of the Texas Commission on Environment Quality and Texas Water Development Board. The City of Dalworthington Gardens is requesting citizens and businesses to comply with the city ordinances and use water wisely. These water restrictions are mandatory and are not to be confused with the voluntary conservation efforts in the Drought Contingency Emergency Water Management Plan.
