Public Works Department


The Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing the public welfare through the design, construction and maintenance of:
  • Streets
  • Drainage systems
  • Water distribution and wastewater
  • City fleet and city buildings
  • Flood plain management
  • Water conservation
  • Administering and directing all activities of Public Works
However, the Public Works Department works on water main breaks whenever they occur. The Public Works Department responds to citizen inquiries and strives to provide quality service.

Public Works can be contacted Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. To report an

To report problems during working hours call 817-274-7368. . After hours,  on weekends, and on holidays please call the after Hours Emergency number 817-275-1234.

When reporting a problem, provide as much detailed information available concerning the
 problem (i.e. your name, address, telephone number).

State law requires you to call

8-1-1 at least 48 hours in advance of digging 16 inches or deeper to request that service wires be located.
